Wonder-Ful

For me, Christmas is one of the most special times of the year! The truths surrounding its existence are profound and full of wonder. I have so many heartwarming memories wrapped up in the Christmas season. I could write for days about all the wonderful things that have transpired during this joyous time. Above all else, the idea of Jesus coming to earth because God was thinking of me is beyond wonderful! What kind of God would love and pursue someone like me? It seems more reasonable that he would come for someone like you because I don’t know all of your failures, shortcomings, and sin. But for me, the fact that Jesus came because he was thinking of me, the one who has failed Him so much, is profound and beyond description! A perfect and holy God was willing to become sin for me??? How beautiful! How wonderful!

2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in him, we might become the righteousness of God.

Think about it this way – God loves you and me so much that he was willing to bankrupt heaven to reconcile us to himself. With all the violence, murder, bitterness, selfishness, and injustice, the fact that God would sacrifice his only son for a messed-up world like this is overwhelming! Those who would dare to honestly grapple with the truth of what God has done for us will, without a doubt, find themselves dumbfounded and compelled to declare God as beyond wonderful! Oh, yes! Our God is amazing! He is full of wonder and truly wonder-full!

Isaiah 9:6 For to us, a child is born, to us, a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

My dearest friend, this Christmas season offers you the perfect opportunity to let your heart become vulnerable to the God who so deeply loves you! It is the ideal occasion to ascribe to him the glory and honor he so deserves! May you take possession of this moment to celebrate the wonder of all that God has done for us! May it be that during this time, it will not be your words only that declare his glory but your life!

To me, these words desperately fail to describe how beautiful God is! I believe the best thing we can do is trust him fully and honor him with our lives!

Oh, God, my words fail to describe how beautiful you are! You truly deserve all honor, praise, and worship! You are indeed full of wonder and...
