FAITH IS TRUTH REVEALED

THOSE WHO KNOW THEIR GOD Part 29

"Those who know their God will be strong and do great things." Dan 11:32

WHAT DO PEOPLE DO TO KNOW GOD?

Those who truly want to know God are those who focus on the life of faith. Truth is transformed into faith when it becomes a revelation in your soul (your mind, will, and emotions). Faith is not about knowledge but rather the revealing of knowledge. Faith is manifested through meditating on God's truth until the epiphany of that truth is unfolded. Therefore, faith can never be worked up; it must be soaked up.

Please understand this most important truth regarding faith. Faith does not merely come from meditating upon the word of God; it also requires the power of the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that leads us and guides us into all truth.

John 16:13-15  But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.

Again, faith is not something we can work up by merely meditating; we must also be reliant upon the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to our hearts. This is why the apostle Paul prayed for the church at Ephesus, saying, "17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. Ephesians 1:17-19a

It is so important that we realize that our relationship with God is not about our intellect; it is about God's supernatural work within us by his Holy Spirit. Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:3

We must not think that our intense study of the Scriptures or long hours of meditation will produce the faith of God! Though faith requires the study of the Scriptures and meditation, it is complete reliance upon the Holy Spirit that will bring about heaven's glorious life – the life of faith! Surrender to God and dependence upon the Holy Spirit opens the door for truth to be revealed. Always keep this in mind…
