THOSE WHO KNOW THEIR GOD Part 35

“Those who know their God will be strong and do great things.” Dan 11:32

WHAT DO PEOPLE DO TO KNOW GOD?

When a woman is genuinely in love with a man, it is not his money or possessions that she desires; it is him. Those women who are going after a man’s money and calling it love will find great disappointment in the future because their greatest need is love.

The greatest need you and I have his love. Going after God for what he can give us will never fulfill our deepest need. We need him! King David understood the precious place of intimacy with God and penned these words, “Because your love is better than life, my lips will praise you.” Psalm 63:3

David realized that it wasn’t the things that God could give him that were the most important; it was God himself. For David, abundant life meant existing in the love of God. For him, it was better than life itself! The love of God is what drove Paul to pen these words, “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21 Apostle Paul’s whole life was wrapped up in Christ. He wrote in another place, “I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings being made like him in his death that I would attain to the resurrection of the dead.” Philippians 3:10

Apostle Paul’s deepest longing and most ardent pursuit was to know Christ. Though apostle Paul had some accolades behind his name and achievements that he could have used to define his existence, he didn’t. Instead, he said, “Whatever was to my profit, I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.”

Do you consider everything in this life worth nothing in comparison with knowing Christ? Do you long for what God can give you, or do you long for him? Many people pursue God because they want some form of worldly achievement or physical blessing. The greatest blessing you will ever know is the blessing of being intimate with God, the blessing of knowing what he has known about you all along!

Those who know how loving God is are those who fall in love with God! Those who genuinely fall in love with God are those who…
