THOSE WHO KNOW THEIR GOD Part 13

“Those who know their God will be strong and do great things.” Dan 11:32

WHAT DOES A PERSON DO WHO KNOWS GOD?

My dear friend, I pray that this Encouraging Note finds you well and living inside of the precious love of God today! In this time of great chaos in our world, we must look to the only answer to its dire needs – Jesus. As we have been discussing, the prophet Daniel wrote, “Those who know their God will be strong and do great things.” Daniel 11:32 one of the telltale signs of the person who knows God is that they live by faith and are always speaking faith. Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.” Luke 4:18a

Jesus declared that the first thing he was anointed for was to proclaim good news. Those who believe God are always speaking faith-filled words. The first to receive Jesus good news for those who were poor. The Bible doesn’t specifically say if the poverty these people were facing was spiritual or financial. In either case, Jesus proclaimed good news to them. Good news to a poor person would be that they don’t have to be poor no more! I believe that he was declaring there was a way for them to see heaven’s increase to bring them out of poverty.

When you see bad news, and do you rehearse the bad news, or do you declare good news in its place? Do you spend your time thinking and speaking about the problems or affirming God’s answer to those problems? Apostle Paul faced lots of serious challenges. In the middle of those trials, he wrote to the church at Ephesus, saying, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Ephesians 4:29

Apostle Paul knew that negative words are seeds that become catalysts for more negativity. When we regurgitate bad news, we become the attraction for more of the same. But when we declare the goodness and faithfulness of God, we open up the doors for God’s supernatural help! Do you use your mouth to say that you are going to make it? Do you affirm that God has this all under control? Do you proclaim that God has you in his hands?

Even if it be under your breath, the words you speak directly correlate to what you have been thinking about the most. The predominant thoughts of your mind are what you are going to end up speaking. Luke 6:45 says, “From the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” This is why it is so important to take control of your thought life!

Colossians 3:1-3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

The church at Philippi was facing persecution, and apostle Paul told them the following kingdom secret. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8Finally, brothers, and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:6-8

My dear friend, are you choosing to trust God instead of being anxious or worried? Are you choosing to set your mind on God’s love and grace towards you? The thermometer of your mind is your words. Your words represent what you are always thinking about. Are you always speaking faith?
