WHAT DOES A PERSON DO WHO KNOWS GOD?

The quest of knowing God is the most exciting quest one can ever embark on! The greatest desire of my heart is to live in intimacy with God and fulfill his purpose. Those who know God display the characteristics of God, and as we discussed yesterday, setting the oppressed free is at the forefront of God’s heart. Again, I want to look at another area of oppression: those who are oppressed by sickness. Some are sick in their body, and others are sick in their emotions. The power of words are often underestimated. According to the Bible, words can heal, but they can also hurt. Proverbs 18:20-21 says, From the fruit of his mouth a man’s stomach is filled; with the harvest from his lips, he is satisfied.  21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Wow! Do you see that? The words coming from a man’s mouth can fill his stomach. Yes! In other words, your words have the power to create! The tongue can release life or death. Powerful healing can come through a simple word or sentence from somebody who really cares. Do you know there’s power in your words? Are you using your words to bring healing to people? Every day you are in contact with those who need those kind and compassionate words that come from the heart of God to flow through you!

Those who know their God are those who heal physical bodies. As we discussed a while back, God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and power. Because of that power, he went about doing good and healing all those oppressed by the devil. Acts 10:38 Apostle James told us that the prayer offered in faith will make a sick person well, and if they have committed any sins, they will be forgiven. James 5:14-15 Wow! Do you see it? There’s so much power in your words! Jesus said, “these signs will accompany those who believe. In my name, they will lay hands on sick people, and they will get well. Mark 16:17a,d

One of the signs of those who know God is that they bring healing with them wherever they go. One type of healing is for the sickness of the heart and emotions, and the other kind of healing is for the body. There are so many people who need healing today! Are you available? Can God use you?
