WHAT DO PEOPLE DO TO KNOW GOD?

The thought of being more intimate with God than I am right now is so exciting! I am convinced that God has great things for us, his children! We are everything to him! We are his dream come true! As we continue to discuss what people do to know God, I want to discuss the kingdom of God. Once, while Jesus was talking to the Pharisees, he said, "The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, 21nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is in your midst." Luke 17: 20-21 The kingdom of God was resident within Jesus, but he was getting ready to leave this world, and then the kingdom would be transferred into us.

Another time when Jesus was talking to the Pharisees, he said, "But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you." Matthew 12:28 So, whenever people experienced God's miraculous power through Jesus, they were experiencing the kingdom of God. How was it that Jesus did miracles? The Bible clearly states where his power came from in this Scripture.

Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil because God was with him.

God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and power. Therefore, it was the anointing of the Holy Spirit that gave Jesus the power to do miracles. As we saw in the Scripture above, Jesus said that if he drove out demons among them, then God's kingdom had come upon them. Matthew 12:22

As the body of Christ, we are to be anointed with the same Holy Spirit as Jesus! This is why Jesus declared, "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father. John 14:12 In other words, Jesus was declaring that the very same Holy Spirit that was upon him was going to come upon us.

So what is the kingdom of God? The kingdom of God is the rule and reign of the Holy Spirit in the hearts and minds of those who believe God. This is why Paul told the church of Ephesus that the power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is available for those who believe." Ephesians 1:19 Wow! I hope you understand what the word of God is declaring! This is why apostle Paul said, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him." 1 Corinthians 2:9

I believe that God always saves the best wine for last! The greatest days for the body of Christ are ahead of us, not behind us! God is trying to wean us from living according to self by revealing to us the powerful life of the Spirit! One thing I'm sure of is that those who want to know God are those who are being drawn into a life that is…
