The Destiny Of A Caterpillar
It is so beautiful to watch a butterfly. Though its flight seems so effortless and beautiful, that is not how its life began. The butterfly lived its humble beginning struggling with great effort to make its way over every little rock, twig, and blade of grass. But at a predetermined point in his life, it goes through a catastrophic change. Wrapped up in a cocoon, the caterpillar turns to mush and dies but then is reborn and transformed into a new creation. After this transformation of the caterpillar, those little rocks, twigs, and blades of grass are no longer a challenge because now it sores on the wings of the wind. As a matter of fact, the change is so profound that it even has a new name – butterfly! This is the power of metamorphosis.
Like a butterfly, those who will fulfill their divine destiny will go through times of metamorphosis. During these times, the pressures of life can seem overwhelming and cause you to want to quit. Though the great reward of metamorphosis is for everyone, only those who persevere will win the prize. What causes a person to persevere? It is the internal inspiration that comes from knowing God’s love and trusting in his process. The person who trusts God’s love will resolve in their heart to be faithful to the very end and therefore reap the great reward that God himself gives.
Matthew 25:21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
Being a person of faith is tied to being a person of love. Look at this scripture: Galatians 5:6 For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor on circumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
1Cor 13:13 tells us that faith, hope, and love are all important, but the greatest of them is love!
Fear is usually why people do not accomplish what they are called to do. Fear is a dream and destiny killer and is, therefore, the enemy of our souls. So how do we deal with this enemy? The answer is love. Yes – love!
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18
Perfected love within us is the most potent weapon we have against fear. This kind of love cannot be worked up; it must be soaked up! Why? Because this, love comes from God.
1 John 4:7-8 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God because God is love.
This love that comes from God is the secret to true significance and real purpose! If there were one secret to a rewarding and fulfilling future, it would be the unimaginable power and intense beauty found in the love of God. Therefore, your most excellent effort must be to know and live in God’s love! Everything that is not based upon love will ultimately fail, while that which is founded upon God’s love cannot fail!
My heart is with you as I pray for you today! May you be filled with the faith that presses on because of your revelation of God’s love! May you trust God’s love so completely that you will be willing to go through the metamorphosis necessary to make you Christlike! May you trust God’s love so deeply that you will live unafraid and will relentlessly pursue the great purpose for which he created you. This is your year for the kind of metamorphosis that changes your name! This is your year to soar as never before! May the increase of your life be so profound that it could be related to…
