Financial Prosperity
Have you ever wondered if God cares about money? Well, the truth is that money is so important to God that it was the main subject of nearly half of the parables Jesus told. As a matter of fact, the topic of money and possessions was 15% of all that Jesus ever taught. Do you know that one in every seven verses of the New Testament deals with money? The Bible has about 500 verses on prayer, less than 500 verses on faith but more than 2000 verses on money. Wow!
You can be pretty confident that how you treat money is important to God! But why is money so important to God? The answer is because it is intricately tied to our hearts. The average person will spend more time obtaining money (their job) than any other single activity in their life. Whatever a person spends the most of their time doing will be near their heart. This is why Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Mat 6:21
The word “treasure” in the original language is thēsauros. This Greek word speaks of the place where a person has stored up all their wealth. It is nearly impossible to read the Bible with an open mind and not see that God wants to bless his children with financial wealth. Still, it is also abundantly clear that God does not want wealth to control our desires or become our purpose! Somebody once said, “If God can get it through you, he will get it to you.” A life of true purpose and significance is a life of blessing others! Mike Murdock says, “What you make happen for others; God will make happen for you.” Many people live a need-minded life, but a seed-minded life is where true fulfillment and blessing lie. Living to get will cause a person to live a depressed life, but living to give will produce a life of joy, purpose, and fulfillment!
In light of this, what are your financial goals the next three months, six months, nine months, etc.? When will you be debt-free?
2 Corinthians 9:8-11 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: “He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us, your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
The blood of Jesus makes you perfect in the eyes of God and therefore worthy to be blessed? God, your senior partner, wants to come alongside you and release heaven’s wisdom for his wealth to flow to you and through you! Money does not possess the power to give you true fulfillment but does give you the opportunity to enter into the joy of being a part of fulfilling the purpose of God’s kingdom and empowering others.
If you’re ready for God’s increase, then it’s time to get busy making clear and precise goals! Make sure that you put your goals in front of you every morning and night! Reviewing your goals once in a while will not work! The secret to your future success will be found in your daily routine! Your best is life is ahead of you, not in your rearview mirror! As I pray for you today, I am trusting God to empower you not only to write down your financial dreams and goals but to have a daily routine that will enable you to realize God’s purpose for money and experience His…
