What's Different About You

An exceedingly powerful, unseen force holds back Satan’s tide of corruption and destruction on earth. This unseen power is the mighty presence of God. This power resides within true believers and is the only thing that separates them from all peoples on earth.

2Thess 2:6-8 And now you know what is holding him (the lawless one, the antichrist) back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work, but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.

Though we are not fully perfected, the body of Christ, even in its present form, is no joke! The very power of heaven is residing within us and is holding back the onslaught of Satan. Jesus said, “I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18

In Exodus 33, Moses had been on Mount Sinai for 40 days, and because he was taking so long, the people became restless and decided to make an idol they could worship. Aaron, Moses’s brother, used their gold jewelry to form a golden calf, and they immediately began to worship it. God was so angry that he was going to destroy them, but upon Moses pleading, God relented but told Moses he would not go with them any longer. Look at Moses’ response.

Exodus 33:15-16 Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. 16 How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”

The presence of Almighty God is the only thing that separates us as believers from the rest of the world. It is an unseen force that the enemy hates, and he is doing everything he can to stop it. You are no joke! You may not think you are much, but the very same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is within you and available to you!

Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.

Ephesians 1:18-21 18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, 20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

So how do you become more empowered by the Holy Spirit? I’m glad you asked! :-) Here’s the formula: “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.” Ephesians 5:18-21

The more time you spend praising and worshiping God, the more you will be filled with the Holy Spirit and his power. As you know, we need the presence of God more than ever! The signs of the times make it clear that we are in the last days, and our window of opportunity to fulfill the great commission of Christ is closing. Today is your chance to make the most of every opportunity, using all that God is giving you!
