The Power of Your Thoughts

Do you know that the universe is deeply affected by your thoughts? Scientists are discovering that our thoughts have more power than previously understood. There are many complicated fields of study, but I don’t think any are as confusing and complex as the fantastic and mysterious study of physics. With the findings of the Double Split experiment, Quantum Fluctuations, and Particle Entanglement, the mystery of how our minds connect to the universe is impressive and points to an extraordinary God. Physicists are beginning to admit that the universe is immaterial, mental, and yes, even spiritual, but this is what the word of God has declared all along. It was the power of the spoken word of God that created the universe.

Psalm 33:6 By the word of the LORD, the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.

Thoughts are extremely powerful! The fact that God gave man the ability to choose him or reject him is profound and speaks of the ultimate power of thoughts. The Bible says that “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2Peter 3:9 Though it is not God’s will that any would perish, some will, in their minds, reject God and therefore be eternally separated from Him in hell.

Consequently, I would argue that the only thing more powerful than God is our will or ability to choose. We can choose to accept God’s love or to reject him. It is profound that being eternally close to God or forever separated from him is determined by our thoughts and choices. Therefore, what we allow in our minds can greatly affect our future!

A life of negativity is based upon the law and is always trying to measure up but never feeling good enough. Because God knows all of this, he sent his Son as full payment for our sin, therefore freeing us from the law and the accusation, condemnation, and fear it produces. Though this freedom is for everyone, it is only accessed by faith.

Col 1:21-23  Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation - if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel.

Romans 8:1-2 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus because, through Christ Jesus, the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

Those who believe are no longer bound to the law. They have been set free to live as those whom God declares as perfect, without blemish, and free from accusation! They are his beloved and chosen, called to live in the joy of intimacy with him at all times!

My dearest friend, God is longing for you to feel the embrace of his amazing love and grace! Jesus went to the cross and shed his blood so that you could enter into the very freedom of heaven itself! The only way you can step into this wonderful life is to surrender that part of you that has the power to affect the universe – your thoughts! As you read this today, I pray that God’s Spirit of wisdom and revelation causes you to grasp the importance and…
