A Lifestyle

God longs for you to experience the beauty and wonder of all that he is! Indeed, as Christians, our relationship with God is everything! Our moment by moment, second by second communion with God determines how much of his blessing can flow to and through us and how much he can use us. A great Scripture on relationship with God is found in John chapter 15: “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” John 15:7 Wow! You can ask whatever you wish – Carte blanche! It is important to note that this Scripture doesn’t apply to everyone who claims Christianity; it is for a select group of people – those who remain in Christ and his words remain in them.

The word remain speaks of lifestyle. As quoted yesterday, apostle Paul gave us a key to remaining in Christ. He said, “Rejoice in the Lord always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1Thess 5:16-18 Our relationship with God must be our lifestyle, not just something we do in the morning or at night. Here are a few scriptures of what it looks like to remain in Christ.

Heb 13:15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.

Eph 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Col 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

2Tim 1:3 I thank God, whom I serve, as my forefathers did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers.

Psalm 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise will continually be on my lips.

The secret to having your prayers answered is found in constant communication with God. If you remain in me and my words remain in you… This is the secret! Not only does continuous communion with God cause your prayers to be answered, it empowers your life. Cynthia Lewis once said, “If your day is hemmed in with prayer, it is less likely to come unraveled.” Those who live in continual communication with God learn to hear his heart and be moved by his Spirit.

If there was ever a time when communion with God was important, it is now! The world is desperate for answers! People need to know that our God is still on the throne! Today, God is looking for those through whom he can pour out his Spirit. The more you recognize his incredible love for you, the more you want to be with him every second of your day! Indeed, the most important habit you will perfect is the habit of living inside the precious love of God! Don’t ever allow the ways of false Christianity to lure you into only communing with God in the morning or at night! My dearest friend, the glory and beauty of God is awaiting you! Your experience of all that he is will become greater and greater as your communion with him becomes…
