A Life of Heaven's Realities

When Jesus told us to pray, “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” Mat 6:10,  he was telling us that he wanted us to experience heaven on earth! What can enable a person to live a life of heaven’s realities? Many talk Christian talk, but most fall short when it comes to walking the walk. Living a Christlike life comes from being transformed by the revelation of God’s love and grace, not trying hard! Only those who humble themselves to the truth of being loved and forgiven have the power to live as Jesus did. The more a person receives the grace of God, the more their life will look like Jesus.

Peter had a strong will and told Jesus that he would never deny him –  even if he had to die. I am sure that he meant every word he said, but what he did not know is that he did not have the power to carry out what he thought he believed. Look at these astounding words Jesus spoke to Peter.

Matthew 26:34-35 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “this very night before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” But Peter declared, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the other disciples said the same.

As you know, Peter did indeed deny Jesus three times. What is most interesting to me is that though he was weak at this time, several weeks later, Peter would lead the charge to establish God’s kingdom on earth.

What would cause Peter to become a powerful leader in such a short amount of time? The answer is the Holy Spirit and, therefore, the revelation of truth. After Jesus had risen from the dead, he breathed on his disciples and said, “receive the Holy Spirit.” John 20:22. At this point, they were given the power to understand the Scriptures.

Luke 24:25 Then, he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.

How do I know that it was at this time that their minds were opened to understand the Scriptures? It is because the Scripture says, “The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 2:14.

The word of God and the kingdom of God cannot be understood outside of the Holy Spirit. It is therefore impossible to live the life of God without the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3. Those who try to earn God or figure him out before believing him will never enter into his power. In another place, Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Matthew 11:25.

A powerful and effective life rests upon the foundation of childlike faith! Living a life that declares the reality of God is not complicated; on the contrary, only a person with a childlike heart of faith will tap you into it! Those who choose to set their mind on what God says is true will be those who end up living in the power of what faith can do. A life that never leaves the internal recognition of God’s presence, love, and grace, is a life that will display the passion, determination, and miraculous power of heaven! Being effective for God is a byproduct of being inundated with the revelation of his love!

A life that produces heaven’s realities is a life that rests upon the precious thoughts of God towards us. If you want to be strong during times of testing and used by God to change this world, then be assured that childlike faith in God’s provision through Jesus and precious thoughts towards you are what will cause you to live…
