His Power upon You
Our world is experiencing tremendous suffering, turmoil, and pain, and the body of Christ is God’s answer. Sometimes it seems as if the church is asleep. Have you felt powerless against the raging storm of pain and hurt surrounding you? God wants to touch this world by empowering you to release his love, healing, and forgiveness!
The Scriptures give us many examples of the prosperity and mighty exploits that occurred through those who had the hand of the Lord upon them. One of those is Jabez, who cried out to God, and God answered his prayer.
1 Chronicles 4:10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.
When Stephen was martyred for the name of Jesus, widescale persecution of Christians broke out. During those tumultuous times, instead of hiding, the disciples preached the gospel wherever they were scattered, and God moved mightily.
Acts 11:21 The power of the Lord was with them, and a large number of these Gentiles believed and turned to the Lord.
Having the hand of God upon you will cause God’s purpose, favor, and power to be upon you and flow through you! So, what causes God’s hand to be upon you?
Psalms 37:5-6 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.
Psalms 50:23 He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me,
and he prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God.”
Committing your life fully to God and completely trusting Him is the beginning of stepping into all God has for you. We can see clearly in Scripture that faith moves God’s hand and causes miracles to happen.
Please don’t ever think that this kind of anointing and power is something you can produce with willpower or personal effort. This kind of anointing comes only through childlike faith! Those who are going to have the glory of God’s power, anointing, flowing in and through them will be those who have the following attributes:
They believe that because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, they are loved, forgiven, and free.
They believe that God is in them and all around them.
They believe God is all-powerful and can do anything and that it is his will to touch, heal, save, and deliver.
Because they know they are everything God is ever wanted and his dream come true, they believe they cannot lose, and their best is yet to come!
The mighty works of God are not available to those who trust in their own efforts or abilities. God’s power flows through those humble enough to believe and receive what cannot be physically seen! Don’t ever be misled, thinking that we as the body of Christ are waiting upon God. No! God has done all that he will do – he is waiting on us!
