Person Of Integrity
God desires that we would make an indelible impact in this world! Making an impact comes from consistent, uncompromising daily actions. Those who consistently live to give are truly significant and are making the greatest impact in this world!
One of the greatest keys to a life of significance is integrity. Integrity is who you are on the inside and how you live your life when no one’s looking. How you live your life when no one is looking is the true statement of what you believe. What a company actually does is its mission statement, not some creed or ideology that has been written down and advertised!
A mission or business statement is not necessarily what a company genuinely believes; what they do is what they believe. What a company does shows what really matters to them the most – not what should matter, not what they wish mattered, but what truly matters! To make it clear – the actions of a company dwarf its mission statements, speeches, or any other intentions, whether written or spoken!
James 2:14-24 14 What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? 15 Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, 16 and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?
17 So, you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.
18 Now, someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”
19 You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. 20 How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?
21 Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete. 23 And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God. 24 So, you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone.
A lot of times, you will hear people say, “God knows my heart,” but over and over, Jesus said, “I know your deeds.” (Revelation 2:2, 19, 23, 3:1,8,15) Jesus said, “If you love me, you will obey me.” John 14:15
Our words are not the measurement of our love for God; love is measured by what we do! Likewise, our love for people is not measured by words but by what we do to serve them. Integrity is when our deeds are equal to our words. It’s better to commit to less and over-deliver than to overcommit and not do what you say. In a world where talk is cheap, people long to experience those who have real integrity!
It is so important to understand that the Holy Spirit within us is the power to be a person of integrity. The more we live intimately with God, the more our life will look like Christ! As I pray for you today, I ask God for his grace to draw you deeper into a life of intimacy with him and to enable you to live a life of significance by being a…
