He Wants You to Live in It

Can you imagine giving one of your children a brand-new home but instead of living in the house, they lived in the shed in the back because they couldn’t bring themselves to accept that it was truly theirs? That would be a sad scenario, wouldn’t it?

How often this is the case for those who claim Christianity. Even though God has given us his righteousness, many people still try to earn it by living according to the law. Trying to obey the law by living up to its regulations and standards was never God’s plan for our lives and could never make us right with him! Everything we do outside of trusting Christ is hopelessly worthless! The only way we find true life and produce that life in others is through trusting in God’s provision for us through Christ!

Hebrews 9:9 This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper.

Romans 5:16 And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins.

Though the sacrifices of animals were constantly offered, they were never able to cleanse the consciences of those who sought to worship God. No amount of serving God and obeying the law can make you feel right with God; only faith in the blood of Jesus and surrender to the forever settled truth of God’s provision for righteousness makes us free from guilt and shame!

Childlike faith is the answer! Don’t try to figure it out – just surrender! Let go and receive that you are as righteous as God says you are! Please pay close attention to the following Scripture.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: a The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin b for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Wow! Do you get it? Have you fully accepted that God is not counting your sins against you? Are you living free? No external work of obedience to God can cleanse our consciences and make us right with God! Surrendering to the finished work of Christ on the cross and resting in that provision is the only way to be right with God!

Today is your day to leave the bondage of the works of the law and enter by faith into the righteousness of Christ offered to us by God! Faith is the only thing that will tap you into the life you love living! If you give one of your children a new home, you want them to live in it! God has given you his righteousness and his glorious life, and…
