Receive All That Is Yours

I believe the church is just beginning to find out what is ours in Christ. Do you know that everything you have ever wanted or needed is found in Christ? I know that sounds trite, but it is wholly true! Consider these awe-inspiring words God gave to us through the apostle Peter.

2 Peter 1:3 His (God’s) divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

Do you see that? Everything you need for both natural and spiritual life is found in Christ. Scriptures like that are often read but rarely truly believed. Apostle John, speaking of Jesus, said, “In him was life, and that life was the light of men.” John 1:4 Later on, Jesus comforted his disciples by saying, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Those who will dive deep into the life of faith will take hold of the full riches of complete understanding, which is intimacy with Christ, and inside of Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Colossians 2:2-3  My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Wow! Everything you need is found in Christ! Wisdom and knowledge for business, marriage, intimacy with God, ministry, etc., are in Christ. People often seek God to earn or deserve what God has already provided for them when received by simple faith!

The Old Testament tells us that we will find God after we have sought him with all of our hearts. Jeremiah 29:13. In the New Testament, Christ is in us, and he is the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27. This is why faith is necessary to please God. Should you seek God? Yes! But your seeking should be to discover what is already yours, not to earn something that is not yours yet. The life of Christ is a life of rest – resting in who we already are and what is already ours in Christ.

Hebrews 4:11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience.

This effort is not about striving in the flesh but rather relinquishing our trust in ourselves and choosing to trust God completely!

God is longing for you to discover what is already yours! You must set your mind on things above! What does that mean? Setting your mind on things above is setting your mind on what God says is already yours! The war the enemy wages against you is a war waged in your mind. His ultimate purpose is to get you to live in the inferior identity of self and self-righteousness! Therefore, it is paramount that you pursue the discovery of who God says you already are and what he says is already yours!

I cannot overemphasize the following statement: You are where you are in life because of what you have allowed in your mind through the gates of your eyes and ears! What you put in you in abundance determines your future! A great life is not a stroke of luck – it is a determination to guard what goes in your heart! (Prov 4:23)

Everything you watch, read, and listen to becomes the seeds of your future! Increasing faith comes from a lifestyle of meditating on what God believes about you!

Do you need an increase in any area of your life? Everything you need is in Christ! God is with you now and is excited to share all that is yours in him! If he was willing to give his Son as a sacrifice for you, you can be sure that he longs for you to…
