Blessed like Abraham
Henry Ford coined the famous phrase, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” How true! It is faith that causes a person to succeed. When God spoke to Abraham, Abraham believed and did what God told him to do. Abraham’s faith and obedience were met with God’s supernatural favor, and that favor caused him to have unusual blessing in his life.
Genesis 13:2 Abram had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold.
Genesis 13:6 But the land was unable to support both of them while they stayed together, for they had so many possessions that they were unable to coexist.
Genesis 24:1 By now, Abraham was old and well along in years, and the LORD had blessed him in every way.
It is important to note that it is God who gives a person the power to create wealth.
Deuteronomy 8:18 But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
Even more valuable than Abraham’s physical wealth was his spiritual wealth. The Bible says, “Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.” Genesis 15:6
How was it that Abraham received perfect standing (righteousness) with God? He believed God! Through believing, Abraham stepped into the greatest blessing of all, the blessing of being perfect in the sight of God! God wants to give us the same blessing he gave Abraham, but that is only possible when we believe him! Carefully read the following powerful scriptures!
Galatians 3:14 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
Psalms 5:11-12 But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
Galatians 3:6-9 So, also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” So, those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.
Wow! I pray that you are soaking those scriptures in! They are a big deal! According to Hebrews 11:6, without faith, it is impossible for us to please God! Faith is the only way we are made righteous and the only way we step into the fullness of God’s blessing for us. The scripture above says, “So, those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.” Gal 6:9
So here is the million-dollar question: When it comes to receiving all God has for you, upon whom or what are you relying on? Is it your good works, or is it simple faith in what God has offered to you through Jesus Christ?
My dear friend now is your time – this is your moment for a breakthrough! Everything is possible for him who believes! Mark 9:23 As we have determined, blessing chases the one who believes God! As I pray for you today, I am asking God to cause this revelation of faith to pierce your heart as never before! May this Encouraging Note inspire you to rely on faith alone, and may you be…
