DADDY IS TALKING
Romans 8:15 lets us know that through the Holy Spirit we can call God “Abba” which means “Daddy" or “Father.” Our Eternal and Wonderful Daddy is talking to us and wants everything that is beautiful and wonderful to be ours! He speaks to us in many ways but, are you aware that He speaks to us through discipline? Sometimes we wonder why we are going through such hard circumstances. When things are difficult and it is hard to understand why, sometimes its God trying to get our attention.
Deut 8:5 Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.
Hebrews 12:5-11 And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son." Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
The discipline of the Lord is always for our good! God is always trying to bring to us what is necessary for us to be the most blessed and the most fruitful! Maybe you are going through something that is less than enjoyable right now. Consider that maybe God is calling you to a higher level and is wanting you to experience more of his abundant life. Speaking of trials, look at what the apostle Peter says regarding this…
1Pe 1:7-9 These (trials) have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honour when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
There is nothing that escapes God’s notice; no trial that overcomes you that you will not be able to withstand. (1Cor 10:13) The trials that you are currently facing may be signifying your greatest moment of increase is at hand! If so, this is your time to be listening...listening carefully!
If you will settle in your mind that God loves you more than anything and that the trials he allows will only bring you more of heaven's amazing life, then you will embrace the rocky road that you're facing right now. I am praying for you today that the wisdom of God would be upon you to say yes to the gentle promptings of his Holy Spirit. For those who obey, “weeping remains for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” (Ps 30:5)Are you going through something that is difficult?… You might want to consider that maybe...
