Greater Than Ever Before

Have you ever wonder why some people are very gifted but never go anywhere in life and others with a lot less gifting accomplish great things? One of the secrets of those who become successful and accomplish great things is the art of listening and being teachable.

“So don’t bother correcting mockers; they will only hate you. But correct the wise, and they will love you. Instruct the wise, and they will be even wiser. Teach the righteous, and they will learn even more.” Proverbs‬ ‭9:8-9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Wise people are teachable and are able to be instructed and corrected. I have talked young people before and sometimes even old who were unteachable and thought they already had it all figured out but yet their lives were a mess. How wonderful to find the humble and teachable, those willing to be disciplined and corrected. Listen to the instruction of the wisest man that ever lived, King Solomon.

Proverbs 15:31-33 He who listens to a life-giving rebuke will be at home among the wise. He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding. The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor.

A person who is foolish does not accept correction or rebuke. "A mocker resents correction; he will not consult the wise.” Proverbs 15:12  Jesus told us, “The greatest in the kingdom will be the servant of all.” Mk 10:44

A humble and teachable heart is of great value! I love this great quote from Meister Eckhart  “Be willing to be a beginner every single morning.” Greatness is a byproduct of being humble and teachable. One of the marks of Jesus Christ was his servant’s heart. May we be those who are the wise that the word of God speaks of. May we be humble, teachable and put great value on correction and instruction. My hearts prayer for you today is that God would bless you with an even greater humility and teachable heart than ever before! it’s time for you to have a greater life...
