WHAT'S IT WORTH?
Many things are important but few things that are life-changing. The state of your soul when Jesus shows up is an importance that cannot be fully appreciated this side of eternity. My daddy often said, “Only one life twill soon be passed, only what’s done for Christ will last.”The secret to a life of great output is to have great input! Apostle Paul said it like this, "7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." (Ga 6:7–10 NIV)
Do you ever ask yourself the question, “Why am I here on this earth, what is my purpose?” Your highest calling is intimacy with God; from it will flow your second greatest purpose – introducing others to intimacy with God. Intimacy with God is the life of living loved, forgiven and free. This life comes through a transformation of your soul. Your soul is made up of your mind, your will, and your emotions. Experiencing the wonder of living loved, forgiven and free, is, therefore, a prerequisite to making a formidable impact on this world; since we can only give away what we possess. This abundant life is the whole purpose of your Christianity seeing that everything flows from it.
1Peter 1:8-9 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
The central purpose of your Christianity is the salvation of your own soul! Why? Everything flows from this! Jesus said, "What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? Mark 8:36-37
The only way to experience this wonderful life is to rest in the finished work provided for us through Jesus! Remember these words of Jesus, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Mt 11:28–30)
There is no way to work up this wonderful life… You must soak it up! What are you living for? What makes your life what it is? Think about it, your eternal soul…
