YOU CAN DO IT!
It's one thing to talk about it– It's another thing to do it! Building your house on the word of God is about doing the word of God, not just hearing it. Because of the self-righteous mindset that has been ingrained into us through Adam and Eve, we have often read our Bible for knowledge or to be able to check off our proverbial “be righteous checklist” that we have done it. It’s not about how much you know; it’s about how much you believe and do. Listen to these powerful words of Jesus.
Mt 7:24. "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it–he will be blessed in what he does. (James 1:23-25 NIV1984)
It is so important to read the word of God and to hear the word of God but it is far more important to do the word of God! Look at what apostle James said about this.
James 2:18-19 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
I am praying for you today! My declaration over your life today is that you are determined to do what you read and that you will intimately experience what you’ve heard! The wonderful life you are longing for will be determined by what you DO, which is preceded by what you believe! I declare that, as you read the word of God today, you are committed to do what you know and to live what you've heard! Come on…
