A NEW PERSPECTIVE
The right perspective of God changes everything! The way we see God changes the way we see ourselves, how we see others and how we see the world as a whole. One of the words that many Christians shy away from is the word, LORD. In many people’s eyes, the term Lord carries a very negative connotation to it. But in the Bible, when it speaks of Jesus Christ being Lord, it is powerful and most beautiful! So, what does it mean for Jesus to be LORD?
1 Cor 12:3 Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
It is not possible to grasp the concept of “Jesus is Lord” without revelation from the Holy Spirit. One of the primary jobs of the Holy Spirit is to tap us into the love of God. It is impossible to understand what it means for Jesus Christ to be Lord without realizing the love of God. The Lordship of God flows from his nature of love – specifically his everlasting love for us.
When God told Moses to go to Egypt to deliver his people from the hand of Pharaoh, Moses protested and said, “If I go to the people of Israel and tell them, ‘The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ they will ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what should I tell them?” 14 God replied to Moses, “I Am Who I Am. Say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent me to you.” (Ex 3:13–14 KJV)
The term, “I Am” when used in reference to God, speaks of his all-consuming nature; he literally is everything. Everything that is visible and invisible was made by him and is sustained by him. Surrendering to him as the complete answer for your life is the wisest thing you will ever do and this is Lordship. Jesus said it like this, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." (Mt 16:24)One of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed is to see those who humble themselves enough to realize they don’t know what they’re doing and receive Jesus Christ as the complete answer (Lord) of their life.
Hence, to have Jesus Christ as your Lord means he is your everything! He not only is your Lord and Master, he is the source or provision for everything beautiful and wonderful that you need! It means that you trust him (not yourself) for everything! He alone must be your righteousness, and you must fully rest in his payment on the cross, accepting that it completely and entirely clears all your debt of sin and failure… past, present and future! This is where life becomes amazing and where true fulfillment begins.
Today is your breakthrough day! Today is the day for your life to become God's possession! Trusting him alone declares you as his possession! He has great plans for you and the power to fulfill the deepest longings and desires that he has placed within you! He alone has the ability to make you successful and even more, significant! May you be fully devoted to him! When you trust him, you are willing to do all that he says, no matter what the cost, knowing that he has your best in mind! May he, as the love of your life, be your ultimate purpose here on earth. God is in love with you and has done it all for you! Will you trust him?
