LIKE A CHILD!

Sometimes I have visions in my mind of that pretty little girl in the supermarket, wearing a beautiful white dress, spinning and twirling about, singing at the top of her lungs without a care in the world. What a lovely picture this is to me! There is something so precious and faith-filled yet so vulnerable about a child like this. They believe what they’re told and live with such boldness, freedom, and happiness! Do you know that this is precisely how God wants us to come to him, like a little child? Carefully consider the following story of a moment in the life of Jesus. 

"One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth; anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them. Mark 10:13-16 

Sadly, as people get older, they become jaded and cynical to life. Because of genuine hurts and pains, they have a hard time trusting anyone about anything – including God. Children, on the other hand, simply believe. Children are typically vulnerable, passionate, fun-loving and full of faith! Oh, that we would come to God just like that.  

If you want more in your relationship with God, know this. It starts with truly letting go and believing how safe and loved you are with God! Because of the blood of Jesus, you have been made righteous in his sight and, therefore, can let go and let your heart be vulnerable to him! You can confidently go to him without fear of being shamed or condemned! Through Jesus, an amazing life is available for you!  

Again, my heart calls out to God in prayer for you. May this be your day to surrender within your heart and mind that because of the sacrifice of Jesus, you are perfect in God’s sight. You are indeed everything he has ever wanted! A beautiful, fulfilling and rewarding relationship with God is available to you now! Today is your day to go higher! Oh, that you would ponder these thoughts carefully! Oh yes – today you are afforded the fantastic opportunity of coming to God…
