More and more the scientific community is getting on board with how vital rest is. Similarly, the Christian community is also beginning to understand the value of spiritual rest. One of the secrets to a life of purpose and significance both physically and spiritually is rest. God not only wants you to get rest, but he also wants you to live in rest! Live in rest? Yes! 

Mt 11:28-30 Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” 

Your soul is your mind, will, and emotions. Therefore, Jesus instructed us to come to him to experience his life of freedom from hurt, shame, worry, fear, anxiety, and all stress. God intended for us to believe that he is working everything out for our good. Through the apostle Paul, he told us, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

Rest occurs when you choose to trust God more than you trust your circumstances. Rest is made possible when you believe that everything will, according to God’s word, work out for your good. 

Ps 55:22 Cast your cares on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.

When you trust God, the sound and effects of the storms of life subside, and you enter into the place of peace and quietness. 

Mk 6:31 Jesus said, “Come with me by yourselves this to a quiet place and get some rest.” 

1 Pet 5:6–7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 

It takes a humble heart to trust enough to let go and let God. Be assured; there is a beautiful quiet place for you to meet with Jesus today. There is a place where you can give him all your cares and be at peace. I want to ask you… Will you? 

I am praying for you this morning and asking God to give you the grace to receive his watchful care over you today. I am asking him to enable you to experience the glorious place of living in his stress-free life! Today is your day to entrust God with all your struggles and trials, your woes and cares, and...
