It is most interesting that Jesus spends almost half of Luke 17 discussing the severity of the coming end times and, immediately after, tells a parable of this persistent woman who needed justice from a wicked judge. She, without wavering, persistently pursued him until she got her answer.

Luke 18:1 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

A study of Luke 18 lets us know that the whole parable is about prayer. After telling the story, Jesus says these powerful words:

And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says.   And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?  I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”  Luke 18:6-8

People who consistently pray believe that God is their answer. Those who do not believe God is the answer to their situation will not take the time to pray, especially the kind of prayer that doesn’t give up until the solution is granted.

In these last days, God is looking for those who believe him enough to pray with persistence! Even Jesus, when he prayed, as recorded in John chapter 17, prayed five times in the same prayer for unity and love. You can be sure that the fiercest battles of your life will find their victory on your knees in prayer! There is only one way to deliver a breakthrough to a lost and hurting world – persistent, faith-filled, passionate prayer!

As we see the end times approaching, prayer must be one of the central areas of focus for us who know God!  It is time to put our prayer life into high gear, releasing the powerful forces of heaven against every dark lie Satan is promoting!  Persistent and consistent prayer is the only thing the devil fears and is the only way we bring destruction to his schemes!

The great woman of God, Corrie Ten Boom, said, “Is prayer your steering will or your spare tire.” When you pray, it means that you are trusting God. When you worry, it means that you are trusting you. We must no longer trust in what we can do and must fully rely on what God can do as we pursue him in prayer! The word of God lets me know that, for the body of Christ, our best days are yet ahead. I believe that we are on the brink of an unprecedented revival! Prepare your minds for action through constant communion with the Father. I am convinced that your breakthrough will come, and the lost will be won...
