GOOD ENOUGH!

How do you think God sees you? Are you good enough in his eyes? Your future success in life will be determined by your view of God and your relationship with him. Who is God to you? What is he like? What does he think about you? Are you valuable to him? Does he love you? Moses told the children of Israel how he viewed God and what he perceived him to be.

Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.

Moses saw God as these five things:

1. He is God.

2. He is the faithful God.

3. He is a covenant-keeping God.

4. His covenant is a covenant of love.

5. His covenant reaches to 1000 generations for those who love him and keep his commands.

Wow! Moses’ view of God was reassuring, encouraging, and empowering! No wonder he was able to do all the great things he did! He trusted in the love, kindness, and goodness of God! In the following Scripture, Apostle John tells us that love not only comes from God but that God himself is love.

Dear friends, we should love each other, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has become God’s child and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God because God is love. 1 Jn 4:7-8

So, love comes from God, God is love, but also, love fulfills all the righteous commands found in Scripture.

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellow-man has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not murder,” “Do not steal,” “Do not covet,” and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore, love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:9-10

Since love is the fulfillment of all God's commands and love comes from God, then it's obvious to see that receiving God and his love will cause us to live in his love and, therefore, fulfill all of God’s righteous commands. Do you see it? It's not a matter of you being good enough, rather, it is about you receiving from the God who is good enough! This is what causes all of God's good-enough (His righteous commands) to become your way of life!

To the depth of your rest in God’s love for you, will be the depth of your love for him, resulting in his righteousness flowing through you. How can you be good enough? God sent Jesus to become the complete payment for your sin, mistakes and failures! Therefore, the sacrifice of Jesus declares you good enough in God’s sight and no amount of trying to be righteous on your own can make you right with God!

I believe that we have severely underestimated the power of resting in the finished work of the cross! If you want more in your life, I promise you this; resting in the love of God as demonstrated in the sacrifice of Jesus will be the only thing that will give you the power to fulfill the righteous requirements of God. This will declare you as one who, in the sight of God, is…

GOOD ENOUGH!
