FILLED WITH AWE!
Have you found yourself at times blown away by the reality and goodness of God? Sometimes God shows himself to us in such clear ways that it leaves us speechless!
In Matthew chapter 9, Jesus had come to his hometown, where a desperate, paralytic man was brought to Jesus by a group of friends. The house where Jesus was at was so crowded with people that the friends of this paralytic man tore a hole in the roof and lowered him down to Jesus on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Your sins are forgiven." When the religious leaders heard this, they began to accuse Jesus of blasphemy, but Jesus said to them, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins... Then he said to the paralytic, ‘Get up, take your mat and go home.’ And the man got up and went home. When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to men.” Matthew 9:4-8
On that day, the unmistakable glory of God showed up on planet Earth! People were filled with awe and gave glory and honor to God who gives to men such authority. Oh, yes! When the Power of God shows up on the scene, people are blown away! I believe we are coming into the season of the end times where the world will not only be blown away by the power of God, but also by the love of God working through the people of God!
Because of the impotence in the body of Christ, many desperate people are saying, “Will the real God and the real Christians please stand.” One thing you can be sure of; God is in love with people and will do whatever necessary to draw them to him.
For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. Romans 8:19-21
