AN AMAZING DAY

Have you ever had a day that you would describe as amazing? What what was it that defined that day amazing? I've had some great days, but the day I'm going to describe to you is amazing! 

In first Samuel chapter 3, we read about the boy Samuel who was dedicated at a young age to the service of the Lord by his parents. As a little boy, Samuel spent his life serving in the temple of God; he was obedient, even though he did not yet know God. Because of his obedience to serve God faithfully, an appointed day, designed by God, came about, and Samuel began to hear words from the Spirit of the living God. 

1 Sam 3:7 Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD: The Word of the LORD had not yet been revealed to him.

Do you know that you and I are supposed to hear the voice of God? Though it is God's will for his children to hear his voice, many people don't understand or recognize when God is speaking to them. Jesus made a profound statement when he said, "My sheep hear my voice." John 10:27 

As children of God, we are supposed to live by the words that we hear from God. Jesus said, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." Matthew 4:4 Though God is always speaking; many are not hearing his voice because they have not spent the time to learn the language of God – the Bible. The Word of God, the Bible, contains not only the Word of God but the reality of God himself! 

John 1:1 In the beginning, was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. So the word of God is God himself. Just as a seed is not a tree in its fullness but yet is the fullness of the tree, so the word of God is not God in His fullness but is the fullness of all that God is. 

God longs for you to experience the wonder of not only hearing his words but understanding and experiencing what he is saying. It is so important to choose to obey what God says even before he has spoken to you. It is only those who choose to do the will of God will find out what God's teaching is. 

John 7:17 Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.

Choosing to obey God even when you don't understand, brings great rewards and opens a person up to hearing more of what God has to say. When you get a moment, read the first three chapters of first Samuel. These chapters will speak to your heart and help you to realize that God also has an amazing day planned for you! Oh yes! I'm believing God that for you, today will be that day! Yes! Today is going to be…
