FAITH OVERCOMES THE WORLD
Today God is calling you and me to the thrilling, abundant life of faith! Fear and faith are polar opposites. A person cannot fully trust God and yet live in fear. The world around us is taunting and trying to get us to give in to worry, fear, and hopelessness. We should not be surprised at what’s going on in the world because according to Jesus' own words, we know that these kinds of trials are inevitable. But should we give in to fear and anxiety? Jesus said, "In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world.” Jn 16:33
God is calling you and me to a higher life, the life of faith! You are not ordinary or common, you are royalty, and therefore, instead of living in doubt and fear, we must live in the faith of God that overcomes the world! For you and me, unbelief should never be tolerated!
1Jn 5:4-5 For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
Okay, so let’s get this clear. What is it that overcomes this world? It is faith! We must be people of faith! The only way we will tap into the power of God to change our hurting world is to operate in the faith that comes from the word of God! Yes, with all the challenges you and I are facing, we must be those who are soaking in the word of God every day! Romans 10:17 tells us, "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” Just as you take time to eat natural food every day, so take time every day to get strength from the supernatural food of the word!
Many Christians will read the word of God today but only out of religious duty. The act of reading the Bible does not make us right with God and does not please God unless it is done by faith. When we pursue God by faith through the reading of the Word, we draw near to him and soak in all that he is speaking to us. God wants to speak to you today so, before you go into the word of God today, ask him to reveal new and wonderful things to you. Jer 31:3 says, 'Call to me, and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’
God wants to you to live in his life of victory and prosperity, but this only comes through faith in the precious promises. When we definitively surrender to the amazing good news found in the word of God, our lives are forever changed, and in doing so, we avail ourselves to the supernatural blessings found in being heirs of God and co-heirs with Jesus Christ.
Yes, the trials you are facing are real, but God's plan is unstoppable for those who will stake their lives on his precious promises! May you have a humble, childlike heart that rests in the Good News of the Word of God. May your thoughts be settled inside of the truths he has shared with you, and may the faith of God rise within you today! This is your day to win! Don't forget that...
