I AM SAVED!
What is it mean to be saved? Does it mean that you go to church and try to be a good person? When God revealed the good news of being saved to Abraham, the news to him was so good that he was willing to leave everything to obey the instructions God gave him. The good news of Jesus Christ and what God has provided through Him frees us from the sinful cravings of our old nature that bring destruction and launch us into the empowered life of heaven! Consider this: If God was willing to send his only son to die for sin so that we could step into his abundant life, you can be sure that he is earnest about his desire to bless us!
So, if God is so serious about us, why do many think they can purposefully live against what God has said and have no consequences. It is not the sins that humanity commits that is the problem but rather what they believe regarding God’s love for them and His provision of righteousness that he offers.
The kind of life you live is a reflection of what you believe about yourself and God. Your righteous works or lack thereof do not determine how you feel about yourself, but rather how you think of yourself is what determines your righteous acts or the lack thereof. Your works are only a reflection of what you believe to be true about you. Some claim that they are free yet live in bondage to sin and the lustful desires of the sinful nature. We must understand that freedom is not doing whatever we feel like but rather the power to do what we know is best!
The incredible life that God offers you is the life that makes you love being you and makes your life purposeful, successful and significant! Look at the difference between the life of God and the ways of the flesh in the following Scripture.
Galatians 5:19-25 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
When a person receives true salvation from God, its power is made known by the way the person thinks, feels and acts. Those who wake up in the morning and go to bed at night feeling loved, adored, free and excited about life are those who have conquered their thought life through meditating upon truth found in the gospel of Jesus Christ!
Please understand that there is only one way for our lives to reflect the righteousness of God, and it is not by us trying hard to be good enough. It is by surrendering our hearts and minds to the underserved love, kindness, and mercy of God! This is, in fact, the power that enables us to live holy and godly in this world! When a person begins to believe they are already righteous in the eyes of God, their lives begin to display what they believe about themselves.
Oh, my dear friend, we must respond to the incredible love of God! You will know when you have truly surrendered to the good news of Jesus Christ when you cannot help but love him back, surrendering to him all that you are!
Carefully consider these thoughts today! Fully surrender to the message of God’s love so you can confidently say...
