ETERNAL LOVE!

Many times, I have been guilty of not taking the time to listen carefully. Theodore Roosevelt coined the phrase, "They don't care what you know until they know that you care." How true this is! One of the best ways to show that you care is to take the time to listen carefully. I think that word carefully could be better understood if it was underlined. How important it is that we hear the heart of those we are around. Francis of Assisi has often been attributed to coining the phrase, "Preach the gospel, and if necessary, use words." I think that we could all agree that the most excellent declaration of God on earth is the actions of people that accurately expresses the love of God to others! Look at what the Holy Spirit says in these Scriptures:

Heb 6:10-11 (NLT) For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do. Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true.

John 13:34-35 (NLT) So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.

35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples."

Remember. Love comes from God! (1Jn 4:7) Whenever we operate in the kind of love that cares for others, gives without expectations, and is committed for life, we are operating in something that only comes from God!

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 says, love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy; it does not boast; it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others; it is not self-seeking; it is not easily angered; it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.

The world is longing for a genuine demonstration of the reality of God! If we were an extension of God's Love to each other, the world would quickly see how real he is! Oh, that we would surrender to the love of God! Oh, that we would let go of our striving and enter into resting in his love!

I am praying that the love of God would fill you today, that you would live loved, forgiven, and free! May the purpose of all eternity flow through you today, the glorious mission of God's…
