HE’S SPEAKING!

Do you know that God is continually speaking to you? Some feel like they can’t hear God, or worse yet, God is not talking to them at all. I would like to assure you today that he is indeed speaking to you and that you can hear him. The scriptures declare, “Bread alone will not satisfy, but true life is found in every word, which constantly goes forth from God’s mouth.” Mat 4:4 (TPT)

Yes! God is constantly speaking! Even if you don’t realize it, he is releasing revelation that will empower you. He is speaking specific truth that will lead you and guide you into his great plan for your life. Jesus declared himself to be “...the Way, the Truth, and the Life!” (Jn 14:6) One of the most exciting areas of growth in the life of a Christian is that of growing in the recognition of God’s precious voice! Look at what Jesus says here in John 10.

John 10:27-28 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

God is continually speaking to you so that he can communicate the great and mighty things that he has in store for you! The issue is not whether he is speaking but whether we are listening. Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice.” (Jn 10:27) With the hustle and bustle of life, it is easy to get so caught up in the natural that we miss what is most important – the spiritual. The best place to find God is in the secret place of quietness and trust. This truth is clearly portrayed in God’s interaction with Elijah in the book of First Kings.

1Ki 19:11-13 The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind, there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. (NIV 1984)

Sometimes we are waiting to hear an audible voice or see something profound in the natural, but most often, the place where you will find God is in the quietness of your alone time with God. Be sure of this one thing; God is talking to you! I am praying that this Encouraging Note will inspire you to set aside some special time to experience God’s perspicacious and profound voice! The most important thing in the heart of God is you! Because of this, his plans for you are wonderful. Your future is in his hands. And, your best is yet to come! Will you believe it? I believe that even right now, there are some things that God wants to share with you. Shhh… Can you hear him?...
