THOSE WHO KNOW THEIR GOD Part 9

“Those who know their God will be strong and do great things.” Dan 11:32

Those who know their God are those who are very confident! Confidence is the difference between winning and losing. To the person who wields it, confidence is potent! In Numbers chapter 13, we have the story of the Israelites sending 12 spies into the promised land to check it out. When they came back, they revealed that the land was indeed just as God had said, a land flowing with honey. Though Joshua and Caleb admitted the enormous size of the giants in the land, they said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”. Numbers 13:30b. These two men were filled with faith and knew that the God who had promised them the land would surely enable them to conquer it.

On the other hand, the ten other spies did not trust God and were afraid. They said to the people, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.”  And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” Numbers 13:31-33

Apostle Paul, in response to the grace of God, said, “If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:30b When you are confident that God is on your side, then you know that you will win. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Faith is when you know on the inside what has not yet been revealed on the outside. When Israel was surrounded by the Philistines and its army in hiding, Jonathan said to his armor-bearer, “Come, let’s go over to the outpost of those uncircumcised fellows. Perhaps the LORD will act on our behalf. Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few.”1 Sam 14:6

When you believe God, nothing can hinder him from fulfilling his perfect will in your life! Jonathan chose to believe God and, on that day, procured a mighty victory for Israel! The stories of great faith in the Bible are countless. How many times have we seen those who were willing to step out and do impossible things because God said so? When David faced the Philistine giant, Goliath, he shouted boldly to him, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the LORD will hand you over to me, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. Today I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.” 1 Sam 17:45-47

Those who know their God are those who have absolute confidence in God’s ability to do what he has promised. As I pray for you today, my dear friend, I am declaring that your hope and trust are in God alone? I declare that you are resting in his ability to protect you and bring about victory in your life! He is with you and will give you the power to carry out what he has told you to do? Oh yes! God declares that you are more than a conqueror! Romans 8:37 What I know about the people who know their God is that…
