THOSE WHO KNOW THEIR GOD Part 8
“Those who know their God will be strong and do great things.” Dan 11:32
Is the longing for God inside you increasing? More than anything, I want to know God! I want to live a life of intimacy with him. My greatest desire is that he would be able to fulfill his perfect will in and through my life! I know you feel the same!
With all the chaos going on in the world right now, it is easy to get sidetracked and miss the opportunity at hand. When we trust God alone, we can see from God’s perspective and therefore act according to his will. The people who truly know God are those who think they are safe and that everything’s going to be all right!
God is up to something big! He needs us to believe that he is in control and will make a way for us. When we hear bad news, we must not fear! Fear cripples us – Faith empowers us! As we discussed yesterday, when Daniel received the bad news, he did not fear the king but instead put his trust in God! Speaking of the person who trusts in the Lord, David said, “He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. His heart is secure; he will have no fear; in the end, he will look in triumph on his foes. Psalm 112:7-8
We must always remember that God has the final say. God has a plan, and his plan will not be thwarted! God’s greatest desire and greatest concern is people. “He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 We must remember whose team were on and what the goal of the team is! We are on God’s team! Our predominant function is to share the good news of Christ with this world! Don’t allow the fears of government, politics, wars, etc. scare you and keep you from your ultimate purpose on earth!
Don’t think that God is supposed to use somebody other than you! You are his answer to this lost and dying world! You are the one who has the cure for the greatest ailment of all humanity! It is time for us is the body of Christ to cast all of our cares upon the Lord! We must believe that we are safe because of God’s watchful care over us! The following Scripture sums it all up.
Philippians 4:6-8 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8Finally, brothers, and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
I don’t know about you, but I have to limit the bad news that tries to weasel its way into my life through the news, Facebook, Twitter, and the like. I have to set my mind on things above! I have to feed my spirit continually! We are what we eat! Our input determines our output!
God wants you to know that no matter what is going on in this world, he has you and is working all things for your good! Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose.
As I pray for you today, I believe God will fill you with a deep sense of purpose! I believe that God is going to cause you to be more eternally minded than ever before! I believe that you will feel safe and resolutely pursue all God has called you to do! I am assured of this; those who know their God think they are safe and that…
