Eternally Loved

Some view life as wonderful and exciting, but to others, life is discouraging and depressing. Our view of God determines how we see ourselves and, therefore, how we view life. Not only does our view of God change this present life, but even more importantly, it determines our eternity!

Does God truly love us? Is God faithful, or is he inconsistent and unreliable? By the Spirit of God, Moses said, “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through? Num 23:19 NLT Yes! You can fully count on God! He is faithful to the very end!

God is so trustworthy, pure, and perfect that sin cannot be in his presence. Therefore, because of his great love for us and his desire to be united with us, God sent Jesus Christ to pay for all of our sin. We must get a hold of the fact that God intensely loves us – we are everything he has ever wanted. Let that soak in! You are everything God has ever wanted! Even before the universe was created, he was thinking and dreaming about you.

Ephesians 1:4-5 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.

Faith connects us to the love and grace of God, and it is the love and grace of God that empowers us to live outside of sin. Apostle Paul spoke of this to the Corinthians when he wrote: “Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in pagan revelry.”  We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did—and in one day, twenty-three thousand of them died.  We should not test the Lord, as some of them did—and were killed by snakes.” 1Cor 10:7-9

God hates those things that separate us from his love and his life. The ultimate reward of sin is eternal separation from God and his love. 2Pet 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance. God’s greatest longing is to lavish us with his love for all eternity. John 3:16 says, “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

We live in a day when many people, who claim Christianity, have not taken God and the sacrifice of his Son seriously. The intensity of God’s love was manifested when he sent his only Son to the cross for our sin. Yes! The depth of God’s love for you and me drove him to the unthinkable –  the crucifixion of his only Son in exchange for us. Absolutely profound and amazing! How does a person access what Jesus but for us? Simply believe! Yes, through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus, complete perfection is offered to us by God!

God gave everything to have you as his own, and he expects nothing less than for you to fully trust in his sacrifice and surrender to Him as your God!

The gravity of what God has placed before us cannot be overstated. Everyone you will meet today will spend eternity with God and his love or eternally without him. Every single person matters to God! He is for real, and the end is approaching. May we do all we can to help people view the true and living God who passionately desires that they would be…
