Called to Prosperity

God is profound and glorious in every way! It is awe-inspiring to realize that his greatest longing is to share with us all that he is! He wants us to prosper in every area of our life, just as he is prosperous.

Many times people equate the term prosperity with money. Though money is a part of prosperity, it is far down the list of what God considers prosperity. So what is true prosperity, you may ask? True prosperity is what causes all other forms of prosperity. True prosperity is a state of being loved, adored, and utterly perfect in the eyes of God! It is being empowered to think and feel like your best is yet to come. Therefore, true prosperity can be measured by how much God’s love and grace control a person’s mind. The Bible declares that this kind of prosperity is the goal of our faith.

1Pet 1:8-9 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Your soul is your mind, your will, and your emotions. This is why the New Testament focuses so much on the transformation of our minds. (Rom 12:2) It tells us to set our minds and affections on things above, not on things of the earth. (Col 3:1-3) It is so important to God that we keep our minds on things above that he said this:

Phil 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.

Right-thinking is the way of faith, and without faith, it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6 Your level of faith determines how you perceive the world you live in. If you can change the way you think, it will change the way you feel. If you can change the way you feel, it will change the way you act. If you can change the way you act, you will change your entire destiny. Someone once said, “Your attitude determines your altitude.” How true that is! There are so many scriptures that declare God’s desire for his children to prosper – here is a couple.

Ps 25:12-13  Who, then, is the man that fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him. He will spend his days in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.

2 Corinthians 9:11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us, your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

It is not God’s heart for us to be prosperous only in our finances; he wants us to be made rich in every way. The ultimate purpose of the wealth God longs to give us is the empowerment of others!

Thinking God’s thoughts will launch you into the extraordinary life God has for you! God’s manual (the Bible) definitively spells out God’s precious thoughts towards you! God longs for you to live wholly consumed by his thoughts about you! Resting in the love that God has for you is the key that unlocks the door for you to receive all that God is and has!

You were created for prosperity because God is a God of prosperity, and you are his child! Please understand that it is your thinking that determines your future!
