Beautiful Sontan
Getting a suntan isn’t complicated and doesn’t take much work. You position yourself directly in the light of the sun and then merely relax and rest, right? No running, jumping, or exercising is necessary. You know that is very similar to how you become Christlike and grow in the life of God! Yes – I am talking about getting a Sontan! :-) No personal righteousness is required to get this kind of a tan; as a matter of fact, it is the opposite. The more Sonlight you absorb, the more your life will look like Jesus!
Consider this; the Creator of the whole universe longs for you to absorb the beauty and glory of all that he is! What a glorious thought! Can you imagine what it would be like to become so transformed with the tan of heaven that you must be immediately transferred to the life of heaven? This is what happened to Enoch, as recorded in Genesis chapter 5.
Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. Enoch walked faithfully with God; then, he was no more because God took him away. Genesis 5:23-24 (NIV)
The writer of Hebrews also commented on Enoch, and here’s what he had to say.
Hebrews 11:5-6 By faith, Enoch was taken from this life so that he did not experience death; he could not be found because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. 6 And without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
So, what made it possible for Enoch to experience something so incredible? Check this out – he believed God!!! That’s it! What does God want from you? He wants you to believe him! Please make sure you are clear on this – faith is the opposite of self-righteousness! Faith cannot be worked up; it must be soaked up! Faith is something you absorb from the light of the Son!
You are probably asking the question; how do you do that? Jeremiah gave us a clue when he said, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jer 29:13 (NIV 1984) Jesus said the same thing when he said, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.” Mat 6:33
In other words, your highest priority must be abandoning the mindset of deserving God and receiving God’s provision of your perfect standing with him through Jesus’ sacrifice! Yes! This is Class 101 on The Life of Faith!
The life of faith is the life of rest! It is imperative that you don’t try to use your works to get a Sontan – your works, as a means to get a Sontan, would be like trying to get a suntan in the shade of a large tree! Know this, resting in God’s righteousness is the key to experiencing more of God!
So, just how far can a person go in God? Is it limitless? Yes! According to the word of God, it is limitless. As a matter of fact, it is beyond your imagination!
1 Cor 2:9 However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him, but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit” (NIV 1984) Hallelujah! The Holy Spirit is who reveals to us this amazing place in God!
Hey, I have some great news for you! The heavenly beaches are open today, and the Son is shining bright! What should you do? Well, I would say, head to the beach as quickly as you can! Strip down, leaving all self-righteousness behind, and get positioned directly in the Sonlight! Oh, yes – I can already envision it! Like never before, I can see you with a stunningly…
