The One Whose Favored

God chose the Jews because of the faith of their forefather Abraham. It is important to note that God did not choose him because he was an especially good guy but rather because Abraham believed God. Please understand that faith was and will always be the necessary component for the release of God’s favor.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith, it is impossible to please God because those who come to him must believe that he is and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

The Bible affirms that faith is what taps us into the blessings of a covenant with God. God first instituted the covenant of circumcision with Abraham and his sons, and this covenant set Abraham and his descendants apart as those chosen by God. If you, like Abraham, have put your faith in God alone, then the work of circumcision has been done in your heart by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, just like Abraham, you are also declared as God’s chosen! Consider this powerful Scripture.

Romans 2:28-29 A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. 29 No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man’s praise is not from men but from God.

Circumcision of the heart is the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the one who no longer trusts in their own righteousness but fully trusts in God’s provision of righteousness through the sacrifice of Jesus. When we put our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, his Holy Spirit comes and lives inside us. A cutting way of fleshly living results from this work done by the Holy Spirit, giving us a new passion for God and all that he is! This new passion is a catalyst for your whole life and is what you were created for! Knowing that you are God’s favorite – you are his chosen is a knowing that brings peace, joy, and access to the wonderful life of heaven!

The word of God implores us to come boldly to the throne of grace to find mercy and help in time of need. Heb 4:16 Yes, God wants you to go to him and ask because he is anxiously waiting to release his favor upon you! 

God’s most ardent longing is for deeper intimacy with you! Intimacy with God is made possible through faith alone! Faith can never be worked up – it must be soaked up! Likewise, intimacy with God is realized only by those who believe! Nothing complicated – childlike faith! Of this, you can be sure; you are everything God has ever wanted! He is immensely excited about his future with you! Nothing is more fulfilling to God than your growth in the revelation of his love for you! Go ahead, let go! Trust God like never before!
