THOSE WHO KNOW THEIR GOD Part 23

“Those who know their God will be strong and do great things.” Dan 11:32

WHAT DO PEOPLE DO TO KNOW GOD?

If there is one thing that we could say that would cause you to know God, it would be faith. Hebrews 11:6a says, “And without faith, it is impossible to please God.” Why is it that without faith, it is impossible to please God? It is because God’s greatest desire is to bless us, and faith is the only thing that taps us into all that he longs to give us. Christianity without faith is lifeless and powerless!

When the man came to Jesus with the demon-possessed son and begged him to cast it out, he said to Jesus, “But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” Mark 9:22b Jesus’ reply to this desperate man is profoundly enlightening. ‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for him who believes.” Mark 9:23

Jesus said, “if you can?” In other words, are you wanting me to do it? He went on to say, “everything is possible for him who believes.” Jesus did not say, everything is possible for me because I believe. No! He said everything is possible for him who believes! It is faith alone that taps a person into the blessing that is available in God! Yes! Whatever you believe releases power both positively and negatively. Fear is faith for something negative to happen. Faith is believing for God’s best! Whatever you believe is possible.

If you remember the story, in John chapter 11, of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead, you may remember Jesus telling them to roll back the stone from the grave and Martha arguing with him because of the terrible order that would be released from his decaying body. But Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?” John 11:40

The glory of God is released when people believe! When Jesus felt power go out from his body, he turned around and asked, “who touched me?” The disciples contorted, saying, “everyone is touching you!” Jesus had felt power go out from him and therefore knew that somebody was operating in real faith. The woman who had touched him came trembling to him and told him how she said to herself, “if I just touch the edge of his garment, I will be healed.” Then Jesus said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” Mark 5:34 Again Jesus declared that it was not his faith that healed her; it was the woman’s faith.

What is going to bring healing to your life? Are you waiting for something to happen, or are you choosing to believe God? The Holy Spirit spoke through the apostle John saying, “for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” 1 John 5:4

My dear friend, it is faith that taps you into the glorious life of power and victory in Christ! Don’t wait around for God to do something; get a hold of the Word of God and meditate on it until it becomes you! This is how you will tap into the abundant life Jesus came to give you. Your life of waiting around for God to do something has ended! God is expecting you to believe! So what do people do to know God? They…
