RECKLESSLY ABANDON YOURSELF TO GOD

THOSE WHO KNOW THEIR GOD Part 37

“Those who know their God will be strong and do great things.” Dan 11:32

WHAT DO PEOPLE DO TO KNOW GOD?

Those who achieve great things in life are those who are willing to take risks. Nothing in this life is unshakable. Every investment, every job, every career move, every business, and every relationship has its risks. The only thing you can entirely depend upon is God and what he has declared.

Those who truly trust God do things that seem risky and reckless! Apostle Paul said, “13 If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14 For Christ’s love compels us,” 2Cor 5:13-14a Because of God’s love, Apostle Paul was willing to be, as it were, reckless for the sake of Christ. He was prepared to be ridiculed, lied about, beaten, stoned, and even die for the sake of Christ. When Paul was in Caesarea at Phillip’s house, a prophet named Agabus came up to him and prophesied that he would be bound and put in prison if he went to Jerusalem. All those who were with Paul began crying and begging him not to go to Jerusalem. At this point, Paul said these unforgettable words, “Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” Acts 21:13 Without a doubt, apostle Paul was recklessly abandoned to God! You see, he believed that “Those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.” 2Cor 5:15

Christianity that experiences heaven’s purpose and life requires that same kind of reckless abandonment to God. Jesus said, “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.” Matthew 10:37-38

The extraordinary life of God is made known to those who are willing to give up everything because of their revelation of God’s love! Apostle Paul said, “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 Paul saw himself as crucified with Christ, and therefore life was no longer about himself. Similarly, King David’s revelation of God’s intense love propelled him to say, “Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.  I will praise you as long as I live,  and in your name, I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips, my mouth will praise you. Psalm 63:3-5

My dear partner in Christ, I am praying for you today! I am asking God to give you a new and powerful revelation of His amazing love for you! I am praying that you would be so overwhelmed by His heart for you that you, like Jesus and apostle Paul, would…
