The Gear Called Do

There is tremendous power in the gear called Do! We have all heard Nike’s iconic saying, “Just Do It,” but may not always realize the importance of its application. Often people sit around and wait for the perfect moment, the ideal weather, or the perfect scenario to get things accomplished when most of the time, all that was needed was to “Just Do It.” Consider these tips from the wisest man that ever lived.

Ecclesiastes 11:4 Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.NLT

Proverbs 20:4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing. KJV

To drive most cars, you must put them in gear (D).  I used to say, “Put your car in Do.” Waiting for perfect weather or an opportune situation will never bring about great results! We must put our lives into the gear called Do if we’re going to see our purpose accomplished.

Many think that since they can quote the Bible that they are okay. Indeed, quoting the Bible is good, but knowing what the Bible says is vastly different from doing it. Apostle James phrased it in this way, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.  But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”  James 1:22-25

Blessing does not come from merely knowing what you are supposed to do; it comes from doing what God has told you to do! The Word of God is the roadmap for not only living in your purpose but loving the life you live. Jesus said, “I came that you might have life, and have it to its fullest.” John 10:10

God is longing for you to experience his abundant life! The secret to accessing God’s abundant life is putting into action what you are receiving from the Holy Spirit through the word of God. Putting into action the Holy Spirit’s directives assumes that prayer and the word of God are at the top of your list each day. It

Romans 8:37 No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Hallelujah! There is no better day than today to put your life in the gear called Do! Yes, may you hear what God is speaking and do what he is saying. God says you are more than a conqueror so kick fear out of your car – tell him in no uncertain terms – there ain’t no room for you!!! Come on now, get a hold of the shifter lever (your mind and will) and put your car in Do because it’s time for you to experience the power of…
