Would you believe me if I told you that God has given us a recipe for a life of winning? Living a life of overcoming is our birthright as children of God! God is a conqueror, and he wants his kids to live just like him! Being a conqueror is not about trying hard but being supernaturally empowered by faith! 

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world

1Jn 5:4-5 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.  Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

The secret power that can make you an overcomer in this world is faith. In Matthew chapter 17, after the disciples were unsuccessful at casting a demon out of a boy, they were confused and asked Jesus why they could not cast the demon out. Look at what Jesus said to them.

Mat 17:20  “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.’”

Nothing is impossible for a person who believes and receives what God has granted them through Jesus! I often say that the most important word in the Bible is the word “believe.” Faith is the key that unlocks everything God longs to give you! Many are faithful to attend church every Sunday yet live lives devoid of God’s power because they don’t really believe God. Only faith can tap a person into God’s reality. Indeed, there is no such thing as Christianity without a faith that causes a genuine relationship with God.

James 1:6-8  “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

So how are we supposed to grow in faith? Hebrews 10:17 declares,” Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.”  Apostle Paul taught us how to increase our faith by saying, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

A life filled with God’s good, pleasing and perfect will comes from renewing your mind with God’s thoughts towards you. Those who renew their minds with God’s thoughts are those who will live by faith and, therefore, step into the glorious life God has provided. Philippians 4:8  Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
