Do the Impossible

Have you ever had a longing for God to use you to do humanly impossible things? The times in my life when God has used me for such things, it was awe-inspiring and almost as if I was a bystander watching! I believe that God wants to use all of us, but he is looking for those who will believe him!

You probably remember the story of Jesus coming to the disciples in the middle of the night walking on the water. The disciples were all terrified, but Peter, though trembling,  cried out, “Lord, if it’s you, tell me to come to you on the water.” It seems strange that God would tell someone to do something nobody else has ever done – the impossible! Jesus response was so inspiring! He summoned Peter out of the boat into the unthinkable – the dangerous sea.

Mt 14:28-29 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”  “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus.

The obedient heart of Peter only needed to hear one word – Come! Do you have that same heart? Have you ever considered that God may want to do the impossible through you? Yes! I believe there are amazing things God wants to do through you that may seem impossible. Sometimes people don’t recognize his voice or know that it is him calling. God will always test you out with something small – he wants to know what you will do! It is normal for God to call you to step out of your comfort zone and into his way of living – the life of faith! He wants you to believe him even when it makes no sense. Please understand that God always moves through those willing to believe him even when it makes no sense!

And without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6 

God often comes to people during their midnight hour, when life seems impossible. It could be that you are facing a midnight hour right now. Maybe it looks like everything has turned against you, and life seems like an impossibility. If that is the case, this is your perfect opportunity! This is your moment of growth – now is your time to step into greater faith and power!

During times of trial, God’s voice is everything! Make sure that you are listening carefully for his voice and have chosen in advance to fully obey his instructions! Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice.” John 10:7 Like Peter, understand that God is speaking to you! Yes – it is Him! He’s calling you because it is power time! :-) I know it looks impossible – it’s supposed to! God has provided you an opportunity to trust him even when it makes no sense! Will you believe him enough to get out of your boat and follow him? When God calls you, and you are willing to step out of your boat (your comfort zone), you, like Peter, will also…
