A New Level

When Jesus heard of the death of John the Baptist, he got into a boat to go to a solitary place to be alone. When the people found out where he was going, they ran on foot ahead of him, beating him to his would-be private location. Yes, before Jesus even arrived, a large crowd of ten to fifteen thousand people had gathered, and Jesus, because of his compassion, began healing everyone. Wow! After healing all their sick, Jesus called his disciples to him so that he could teach them how to operate at another level of faith and power. Take a look!

Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick. That evening the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves.” But Jesus said, “That isn’t necessary—you feed them.” “But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish!” they answered. “Bring them here,” he said. Then he told the people to sit down on the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave the bread to the disciples, who distributed it to the people. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers. About 5,000 men were fed that day, in addition to all the women and children! Mat 14:14-21 (NLT)

The disciples wanted to send the people home so that they could eat, but Jesus said, “That isn’t necessary – you feed them.” The instruction that Jesus gave them was nearly impossible. When God wants to take you to another level, often he will instruct you to do something that also seems impossible! The disciples’ response was, “But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish!” Have you ever had a similar response? God is calling you to do something great, but you respond with, we don’t have enough money for that, or we don’t have enough people for that, or I can’t sing good enough for that, etc.

Jesus could see the resources in the invisible realm, but the disciples only saw the natural. Dr. Oral Roberts once said, “If you can see the invisible, you can do the impossible.” You can be assured that God wants to do much greater things through your life than what can be done through natural means! As a matter of fact, if you can do it without God, God probably isn’t in it.

Sometimes we sense God telling us to do something unusual, and, like the disciples, we are tempted to make similar excuses…” I only have,” or “I’m not sure,” or “If only I had,” etc., etc. If God is calling you to do something, you can be assured that he will provide all that is necessary to carry out his instructions!

My dearest friend, as I pray for you today, I am asking God to cause his faith to arise in your heart! God is calling you to the impossible! Are you ready? If you will, I would like to give you some good advice – When God speaks, just do it because what he is calling you to do will take your faith and life to…
