Love Being You

One of the greatest secrets to life is knowing how to love being you. What a wonderful life it is when you can go wake up in the morning loving being you and then lay your head on the pillow at night still loving being you! Oh, yes – this is what the kingdom of God is all about! Those who rely upon circumstances to enjoy life will live on a roller coaster – up one day and down the next. The truth is, God wants you to love life and love being you more than you want it.

We have been discussing the importance of bearing the fruit of God, which is love. Something that ties very closely with love is the word life. Jesus said, “The thief comes to kill, steal, and destroy, but I have come that you might have life and enjoy it to its fullest.” John 10:10. The Greek word for life in this Scripture is zōē. It means the life you love living. Miller beer used to say that their beer produced the high life, but as you and I know, that is not true. The God of the universe sent Jesus to give us the high life! You see, when a person is filled with the love of God, they innately experience the life of God. Knowing that God loves you intensely and has made you perfect in his sight by the blood of Jesus produces a knowing that causes you to love living! When you know God loves you, your heart rests knowing that everything’s gonna be all right! Why? Because he owns everything and can do anything! He is ever-present and all-powerful! Therefore, when you know God passionately loves you, you are convinced that God is making a way for you. Even though things may be difficult at the moment, with no light at the end of the tunnel, you can be confident that your best is yet to come with God on your side!

The secret to enjoying the life you live is found in these following few verses.

John 15:9-14 9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command.

God’s great command to us is love. We can only give away what we possess; therefore, we must be filled with God’s love – remain in his love. Being filled with God’s love requires setting our minds upon (remaining) his love for us. Meditation on the truth of God’s love for us transforms our lives to look like Jesus.

Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

God longs for you to take a test drive in his good, pleasing and perfect will. He wants you to know what it is like to live in his kingdom of love! John 1:4 says, “In him was life, and that life was the light of men.” When you live your life inside of the love of God, you experience his life, and that life causes the light of God to be released to this earth.

Oh, my dear friend, now is the time to go deep into the beautiful life God has offered us through Jesus! Now is your time to experience God’s love and life! Now is the time for the light of God to review the glory of Jesus through you! Oh, yes! Today is your day to…
