Confidence on the Day of Judgment

A person who has centered their life upon the love of God is a person who will have great significance in this world. Some people are successful but are not significant. The legacy you leave through empowering others will determine your level of significance. Success empowers self, but significance empowers others. Success is gained by pursuing businesses and careers, whereas significance is achieved by pursuing what’s best for others.

Jesus was significant because his life made you and me richer in every way. God so loved that he gave. Likewise, when we love, we will also give. Servanthood is all about giving.

Matthew 20:28 For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life away as a ransom for many.

The key to a significant life is being filled with the love of God because love, by nature, empowers others. To be a person of love, we must live in consistent fellowship with God. Those who live a life of intimacy with God are those who will have confidence before God when he returns.

1 John 2:28 And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears, we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.

This Scripture is talking about remaining in the love of God. Those who are confident about God loving them will approach God with confidence. God wants us to come to him in faith so that we can receive the things we’ve asked for. But if our hearts condemn us, we cannot have confidence, and therefore our prayers are hindered.

1 John 3:21-23  Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22 and receive from him anything we ask because we obey his commands and do what pleases him. 23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

Those who believe God receive his love and are empowered to love others. Remember, Christianity is about God living through us, not us living for God. Those who know and rely upon the love of God will live like Jesus in this world and therefore have confidence when they stand before God on the day of judgment.

1 John 4:16-17  And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. 17 In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment because, in this world, we are like him.

I can only give away what I possess. If I want to change my output, I must change my input. Those who live utterly reliant upon the love of God are those who feel loved and therefore love others. Those who live a life of love are those who love living! It is the love of God that makes you love being you and empowers you to love others!

Remember, it is God’s love that causes a person to have a life of significance. Significance naturally happens when you’re filled with God’s love because those filled with love naturally live a life of love. When you live your life loving and serving others, you are living like Jesus, and living like Jesus in this world is what will give you…
