The Life of Heaven
I have often spoken about God’s desire for us to experience heaven’s life right here on earth. But is that really possible? Think about this – Jesus told us to pray, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10. It would be offensive and even a lie if God told us to ask him to have the kingdom of heaven come here if it were not possible. Therefore, the kingdom of heaven coming to this earth and your life is not only possible but is indeed God’s will!
So, what is the kingdom of God? The word kingdom can be split into two words; King and dom. King – Dom. It literally means a king with a domain and dominion. What is the kingdom of God like? Well, here is the definition apostle Paul gave to the Roman church:
Romans 14:7 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy found in the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the kingdom of God is about living a life produced by the Holy Spirit (the third person of the Trinity). The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to lead and guide us into an intimate relationship with God. Intimacy with God is the life of heaven! It is the Holy Spirit that reveals to our hearts who we are in Christ and who Christ is in us. The Holy Spirit also unveils the powerful reality that we are righteous in the sight of God through the blood of Jesus.
Oh, my dearest friend, when, by the Holy Spirit, you are convinced that you are perfect in God’s sight because of the blood of Jesus, you will confidently have fellowship with your loving heavenly Father. When you understand what God is done for you, it causes you to know that you are loved, forgiven, and free! It declares you to be God’s most precious possession!
Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Living inside of God’s grace is what produces the life every person longs to live! This amazing place inside the kingdom of God is a secret place because it can only be accessed by faith. In fact, it is faith alone that causes a person to access all that is theirs in the kingdom of God. This is why God told us, “And without faith, it is impossible to please God. For those who come to him must believe that he is and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6.
Do you realize that God wants to reward your diligent pursuit of him? Oh, yes! When you pursue God through his word, faith arises in your heart which causes you to enter into the life of heaven. Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.”
Yesterday we talked about how the word of God is the DNA and genetic codes of God. When you spend time soaking in the word of God, you are opening up yourself to the life of heaven. The more you pursue him through his word, the more you will step into the life of God. God is so excited about you pursuing him through his word! It is his love letter to you, and it has the power to transform your whole life!
