Take The Lid Off

Yesterday we talked about the power of visualization. Jephthah was able to do great things because he trusted God and was anointed by God. Though God wants us to accomplish great things, many people live with a lid on their lives because they can’t see their future any different from their present.

Today if you feel like a lid is on your life, I want to assure you that you can take the lid off! Apostle Paul wrote, “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13. Those who believe they can go higher will find their lives going higher. Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t - you’re right.” Apostle John wrote, “I wish above all things that you would prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers.” 3John 2 KJV.

When a person’s soul (mind, will, and emotions) prospers, the entirety of their life prospers. Your view of yourself and your life will determine your future.

So, why should you visualize something greater for your life? The first reason is that God says you can go higher, and the second reason is that God says you can take the lid off your life. Remember what Jesus said to the man with the demon-possessed son? – “Everything is possible for him who believes.” Mark 9:23. A person prospers when their soul prospers. God has given you his Word so that you can meditate on what he says is true about you, and when you do, you will experience God’s empowerment to go higher.

Ephesians 3:16-20  I pray that out of his glorious riches, he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.

There have been many who stepped into the world of walking by faith and saw their lives transformed before their very eyes. Hebrews 11 is full of examples of those who chose to believe God and accomplished extraordinary things. If others have done it, so can you! If God says you can go higher, you can! Whether you will go higher or not is determined by your willingness to set your mind on what God has said to be true about you. The more you know how much God loves you, the less fear you will have in your life. My dearest friend, God fiercely loves you!

At this point, you may be asking, “So, how can I change my view of life?” I’m glad you asked :-) because I wanted to talk about that. The only way a person can truly change their life is by changing their minute by minute meditation. The only way to change your life is to change your thoughts. We often speak of the Word repentance, but many don’t understand it. Repentance in its original language simply means to change one’s mind. When Jesus came preaching, repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand, he was saying, change your mind for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

The only way to change your future is to change how you view your future. And the only way to change your view of your future is to set your mind to what God has said about you and your future. I can assure you that God wants you to prosper more than you want to prosper!
