Freely Giving It Away
One of the secrets to a rewarding and fulfilling life is the key of forgiveness! Those who have learned this secret know the glorious freedom of forgiving those who have sinned against them. On the other hand, many are being destroyed by the bondage and stress unforgiveness unleashes. Because of the secret found in God’s love and forgiveness that Jesus possessed, he forgave even those who were killing him. Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34
Jesus is our example, and we are to follow in his footsteps. Look at what Jesus taught us regarding forgiveness.
Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (NKJV)
Matthew 18:34-35 In anger, his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured until he should pay back all he owed. “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart.”
Forgiveness is so powerful that it can open the door of true freedom and victory in your life! When a person lives in unforgiveness, they open the door of destruction to their health and all their relationships. Having a life you truly love living and residing in unforgiveness at the same time is impossible! Without a doubt, some have legitimately hurt you and have done you wrong, but don’t allow what others have done to you to cause you to destroy yourself! Living in bitterness and unforgiveness is like drinking deadly poison, thinking it will hurt the other person! Bitterness and unforgiveness are Satan’s trap to bring destruction to your life!
The secret to forgiveness is being forgiven! Remember, you can only give away what you genuinely possess! Forgiving others comes from the revelation that you are completely forgiven and perfect in God’s sight despite all your sin!
My dearest friend, today affords you the opportunity to fully receive and live in the freedom of God’s payment for your sin, past, present, and future!
