The Best Input

God wants you to be successful, but even more, he wants you to have a life of significance. Your significance is measured by your impact upon those God has allowed you to encounter.

As we have been discussing, a life of significance comes from significant input. Your input determines how you view life, and your view of life determines how you perform. Your thoughts determine your feelings, and your feelings determine your actions, and your actions determine your destiny. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure that you have the best input!

So what is the best input? I believe the best input is the Word of God. Why? Because the One who wrote it created you! The totality of all that you are comes from his heart. When he gave us his Word, he gave us the secret to all that he is. Why? Because you and I are his heart and his dream! God cares far more about you than you care about yourself!

As we have discussed, the Word of God is much more than words; it is God himself.

John 1:1-2,14  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 14The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The Word of God is not only his heart; it reveals his dream about you. You are everything he has ever wanted! Even before the worlds were created you were God’s passion and desire! Yes, the Word of God declares that you are God’s dream come true!

Ephesians 1:4-8 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.

Our revelation of God’s love for us is the determining factor of our entire existence. The more we know how loved and valuable we are, the more we will live lives of true significance. Apostle Paul wrote, “How great is the love that the Father has lavished on us that we should be called children of God – and that is what we are.” 1 John 3:1 Through the prophet Jeremiah, God reveals that before he formed us in our mother’s womb, he knew us. Jer 1:5

God’s passion for you was kindled not only before you were born but before he created this universe! Mind-boggling! It’s not the planets, stars, and galaxies that God is concerned about – it’s you! God so loved the world that he gave his only son! John 3:16 How beautiful and how wonderful!

Nothing has the power to make your life more significant than knowing the value that God has placed upon you! How can you grow in this understanding? It will come exclusively through God’s Word, and that is why it is…
